In middle December, the Director of Internet Research Department--Liu Bing, and the Chair of APIRA-- Wang Enhai visited Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) and National electronics and computer technology center (NECTEC). The purpose of this visit is to introduce and promote APIRA, develop the proper institutions to join APIRA.

 

Mr. Liu and Mr. Wang visited the deputy director of VNNIC, and the director of the public relations department. VNNIC is an affiliation to the Ministry of Information and Communication, and carries out the functions of managing, allocating, supervising and promoting the use of Internet domain name, address, autonomous system number in Vietnam (collectively called as “Internet resources”); providing Internet-related guidance, statistics on Internet; joining international activities on Internet. VNNIC is willing to share their research statistics to APIRA，they also will promote the process to apply the permit to join APIRA.

 

NECTEC is an agency under the Ministry of Science and Technology which they visited in Thailand. NECTEC's main responsibilities are to undertake, support and promote the development of electronics and computer technologies through research and development activities. NECTEC is interest in joining APIRA, they will try to promote it.

 

CNNIC will continue to make efforts to promote APIRA.
