Attending APRICOT2006 in Perth

From February 28 to March 2, Mr. Wang Enhai, the Secretary General of APIRA invited Mr. Cho Chan Hyoung, the Chair of APIRA to attend APRICOT 2006 in Perth, Australia with the main purpose of facilitating the construction of the membership and to extend influence of APIRA. In cooperation with TWNIC, they actively publicized APIRA and the upcoming member conference which would be held in Taipei in August. Meanwhile, they had established comprehensive relationship with lots of Internet oriented Statistics Institutions in Asia- Pacific region.

During the Conference week, Mr. Wang and Mr. Cho had met with representatives from VNNIC (Vietnam), IAJapan (.Japan) and InternetNZ (New Zealand), telling them the idea of APIRA and presented them with materials regarding August's APIRA member conference. Besides, since the annual APRICOT can almost hold the balance of the Internet community in Asia Pacific region, the two people talked with APIA, the secretariat of APRICOT, to see if there is any possibility of holding the APIRA member conferences in conjunction with future APRICOT. The staff of APIA regarded it a great idea and will keep providing updates to APIRA.
