47.9% of Kids aged 3 to 5 Use Internet in South

Taking a look at into the Internet use for e-commerce activities,
the use rates for Internet shopping and Internet banking have
steadily increased with 51.2% for Internet shopping(3.9%p increase)
and 43.9% for Internet banking(8.2%p increase). The ratio of those
who make stock trading and investment via Internet reach to 67.7%
which increased 9.5%p from the previous year.
Internet users spend less time on watching TV than Internet non-users
do with 16.2 hours for users and 23.5 hours for non-users on average.
The difference of hours on TV between users and non-users has
gradually widened. Moreover, Internet users consider a TV and
a radio as a main tool for an information channel relatively less
than non-users do. The ratios of getting information through TV
are 92.1% for Internet users and 98.4% for non-users, and those
of getting information through a radio are 9.9% for users and
13.9% for non-users.
According to this survey analysis, Internet turns out to be transformed
its roles from a mere tool for acquiring information/knowledge
to daily necessaries for communication, economic activities and
media etc. now.
The Korean government has plans to inaugurate the Ubiquitous
Society where users are able to actively participate.
