APIRA Chair Paid an Official Visit to the Secretariat in Beijing, China

On October 25, APIRA Chair, Mr. Cho Chan-Hyoung paid an official visit to APIRA secretariat in China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC). Mr. Cho is from National Internet Development Agency of Korea (NIDA), and this is the first time for him to have a formal meeting with the APIRA secretariat since his election of the Chair. As the local host, Mr. Wang Enhai, the Secretary General of APIRA interviewed Mr. Cho and his retinue, Mr. An In-Hoe.

The meeting was focused on the amendment of APIRA constitution, APIRA joint survey, fundraising plan and measurement of Internet host statistics. The meeting was ended in a friendly atmosphere, and had reached preliminary consensus. After the revision, the constitution will be more open to new members, and more rigorous to both regular and associate members to execute their liabilities.

The two parties also discussed on the possibilities of introducing part of OECD questionnaire in the following APIRA joint surveys; the decisions regarding fundraising plans and joint measurement of Internet host statistics will be made after consulting with other APIRA members.
