NIDA published "2004 Korea Internet Statistics
Yearbook"
December 20, 2004
NIDA published '2004 Korea Internet Statistics Yearbook' to
provide reliable statistical data and comprehensive description
on Internet in Korea. The yearbook, as like previous publications
from 2001 to 2003, discusses 'Internet Source', 'Internet
use' and 'Internet applications' to show the current Internet
status in Korea. It also gives a chance to compare 'Internet
use in foreign countries' with that in Korea.
Moreover, it describes diverse new Internet services including
'e-government', 'Internet banking / online stock trading', and
'PC room', and also provides statistics on the adverse effects
of Internet use like 'cyber crimes' and 'e-commerce fraud'.
The 2004 yearbook newly includes next generation Internet technologies
trend and statistics on them such as 'RFID', 'IPv6' and 'portable
Internet'.
Remarkably, 'Hot issues' in Internet statistics for 2004 and
detailed statistics are written in both Korean and English for
foreigners' convenience. A CD, attached to the yearbook, has
a web version of the statistics so that the text, graphs, and
tables can be readily referred to and quoted.
