2. Secretariat and Secretary-General

  1. APIRA establishes its secretariat. The Secretary-General shall be nominated by the Chair of the Board with the due approval of the Board. The regular term of the Secretary-General shall be 2 (two) years.

  2. Duties of the secretariat:

    1) Being responsible for filing APIRA documents;
    2) Receiving and reviewing the application materials from new applicant organizations;
    3) Being responsible for the Board; implementing resolutions of the Board;
    4) Receiving applications for hosting member meetings; reminding local hosts to hold the meetings on time;
    5) The availability of a contact point to communicate with all APIRA members;
    6) Providing servers and bandwidth for running APIRA website; being responsible for the management of the server and the main website; assigning each member an account; and each member shall manage his own part of the website through his account.

ARTICLE III. Membership

1.Range

        All countries and regions in Asia-Pacific region.

2. Accession of Membership

  1. Qualification
    Internet research oriented organizations, include but not limited to Policy/Regulatory organizations, companies, enterprises, research institutes, colleges and other Internet organizations.

  2. Principle of Entry
    Follow the principle of voluntary participation.

  3. Process
1) Fill in the application form, then submit to APIRA secretariat (See Appendix);
2) The secretariat evaluates the qualification of certain applicant organization and prepares for the evaluation report;
3) The secretariat submits the application form and the evaluation report to the Board;
4) The approval will be finally made on Board meetings.
